Jupiter leaves Cancer on October 31. It’ll be back.
Five months at its strongest, a crossing into Leo, then a slow turn back.
On October 31, 2026, Jupiter leaves Cancer and crosses into Leo. It has been in Cancer since June 2: five months in the sign of its exaltation, where the tradition holds the planet of wisdom and expansion is at its strongest.
It does not stay in Leo long. Seen from Earth, Jupiter appears to stop and move backward for about four months each year, as Earth overtakes it on the inside track. This time the backward stretch begins on December 13, only a step inside Leo. That is close enough to the border that Jupiter slips back into Cancer on January 25, 2027, and holds there into summer.
