Rahu and Ketu change signs on November 25

On Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 7:16 AM Eastern Time, Rahu moves from Aquarius into Capricorn, and Ketu moves from Leo into Cancer at the same instant. They stay in those signs until May 24, 2028. For the next 546 days, these two signs mark where life asks you to steady what grows too fast, and to hold loosely what starts to slip away.

What are Rahu and Ketu?

Rahu and Ketu are not bodies you can see. They are the two points where the Moon’s path crosses the Sun’s path across the sky, and they always sit exactly opposite each other. Rahu is the north node and Ketu the south node, and Jyotish counts both among its nine planets.

Rahu amplifies: it governs foreign things, unconventional paths, obsession, technology and sudden events, and it intensifies whatever it sits close to. Ketu detaches: it governs spiritual depth, separation, introspection and the kind of loss that leaves you freer than before.

Do Rahu and Ketu work for or against my chart?

In the Systems’ Approach, the method behind every Star & Root reading, both work against every chart. There is no rising sign for which Rahu or Ketu supports the chart, and that rule has no exceptions.

That does not make the next year and a half a hard season for everyone. What changes from chart to chart is where the pressure lands. Your rising sign decides which two areas of your life Capricorn and Cancer govern, and those are the areas that ask for more care until May 2028.

Why do they move backward?

Over the months Rahu and Ketu move backward through the zodiac, one sign at a time. Day to day they wobble, turning forward for a few days about every two weeks, but the backward drift wins. That is why Rahu goes from Aquarius into Capricorn, not into Pisces. Each stay lasts about a year and a half: 545 days in Aquarius, 546 in Capricorn.

Rahu entered Aquarius on May 29, 2025, it enters Capricorn on November 25, 2026, and it reaches Sagittarius on May 24, 2028.
